Conference invites researchers to focus on social and economic impact assessment in the cultural and creative industries
On 8 November 2024, within the framework of the conference series "Culture Crossroads XVIII" of the Latvian Academy of Culture (LAC), a thematic session "How to Make it Visible? Assessing Social And Economic Impact In Creative And Cultural Industries" is planned. The session will be held in English, and both international researchers and Latvian researchers, PhD students and graduates of the Latvian Academy of Culture are invited as participants.
This session is part of the research project “Cultural and creative ecosystem of Latvia as a resource of resilience and sustainability” / CERS and particularly the work package, that aims to develop new theoretical and empirical approaches to social and economic impact assessment in cultural and creative industries. We plan to hear from researchers in different fields about methodological approaches that can be used to study the impacts of the cultural and creative industries on the sustainable development of society and the country. With a particular focus on their impact on quality of life, well-being, health, education, social inclusion, environment, climate and innovation.
Following the conference, a call for papers for a special issue of Culture Crossroads (indexed in Scopus) will be launched.
